i always wipe the filter housing face with a rag just to make sure the'res no crap gor on there also as an inspection, this is becuase its happened to me in the past but i didnt catch it. cost me a motor! i was younger then i think i was 18 and the car was an old beater so it wasn't too bad. but still its things you learn along the way.

Ride the clutch out long enough so that all the drivetrain parts slack is taken up then quickly pop out clutch and gas.
