Default Oil change disaster....lol

so im out changing the oil on all the cars today, i was even nice enough to do my gf/s talon...everything was going fine up until i had her warm the car up so i could check the dipstick and find out how much of the fifth qt i had to add...upon starting there were huge slurping sounds or air trying to come up through the oil fill cap...i shrugged it off at first, but then checked the dipstick quick... after finding it dry i told her to shut the car off as i continued to puzzle over this abnormality...anyways, just for shits n giggles (as i knew i had put the screw back in and the filter on tight i realized the gravel underneath the car was covered in new quaker state oil...I sighed, not knowing exactly what happened..i figured maybe i put the wrong filter on as i had to buy 5 one for each car...told the gf to put the car in neutral so we could push it back to a dry spot so i could go under, and the genius fires the engine up to do it.... i scream at her to turn the engine off (luckily nothing happened) and showed her how you put the car in neutral without turning the damn thing on...we get it into position and i get under the car, take the filter off (where it was spewing from, and i mean spewing...oil was everywhere) and match it up to the old filter...size was fine, but upon closer inspection i realized the o-ring gasked was nowhere to be found in the old filter...apparently it had been so long since she changed the oil, the old gasket didnt want to leave, and there really wasnt anyway 2 gaskets were going to hold the oil in the tank...sigh...now im left with a big mess in the driveway and am down 5 qts of oil...i guess it coulda been worse with a shot engine... just thought id share..
