Default Re: Shifting problems after clutch install

You sure you installed the throw out bearing correctly? Sounds like you have air issues in your clutch. Bleed it again and keep bleeding for a while, don't let the level in the master get too low otherwise you will catch air. If you don't have anyone to help buy a speed bleeder valve for the slave cylinder to make things easier. Also make sure to have a clear vinyl tube on the bleeder screw and dip it into a jar or w/e with fluid in it to prevent air from getting in while bleeding. From what i know about DSMs often times clutches with stiff pressure plates such as ACTs will wear out old Masters and slaves very quickly and sometimes need extended slave rods. But sounds like your having an issue with engaging and disengaging the clutch which is usually only related to the throwout bearing or the system having air in it. Try to bleed it again if that doesnt help perhaps bad throw out bearing. Also aftermarket throw out bearings are the best. We used an ACT once and it was garbage. OEM for mitsus is a must!
