Re: Good way to spend $8,000?
Yeah but how many people REALLY have a great running car with an AEM? thats because 99% of the people who think they can tune a standalone, can't. It may idle and be tuned at WOT but then they get shit for gas mileage. Its never a one shot deal, you spend months fine tuning and then it still is not 100% IMO the negatives outweigh the benefits.
Figure about $2500-$3k invested in the AEM alone if you pay a good tuner to tune it for you, after the initial cost of the unit, all the goodies to go with it, and the installation.
Thats why I love the emanage ultimate, all the benefits of a standalone(no maf, timing control etc), yet the ease of starting with a factory map and fine tuneability, and relatively inexpensive.
