if these cars were RWD, then i'd simply swap the rear end out for a ratio that matched what i wanted the car to do. in an AWD it's not nearly as simple, so it makes a lot more sense to add gearing changes/additional gears to the tranny--than it does to change all 3 differentials (unless you can demonstrate how that's flawed logic).
if nothing else, the engine could be mounted longitudinally (yes, highly work-intensive), and then even MORE tranny options become available; yes, even the 4-matic.

Very few cars would have the same layout as our engine/trans and also have transmission that are dimensionally compatible as well as gear ratio compatible.
Basically there is zero chance you are going to do this and keep the AWD. Of course you can make the car RWD and run anything you want, that is proven.
You sound like a kiddie doing an engine swap in Forza and thinking it is just as easy in real life.
Believe me, if there was another transmission that could be fabbed up to work someone would be running it by now.
I can put wheels on my house and drive it down the road if I have enough time and money, but what the hell is the point about spouting out bullshit drivetrain swaps in every other thread when there is no way it is happening.
It is just as stupid as the car who wanted to swap our drivetrain in a Crossfire.
BTW, it is impossible to prove a negative.. I.e. you cannot prove that something absolutely cannot be done. Just like you cannot prove 100% there aren't any aliens in space because you cannot explore all space.
It is up to you to prove it can be done. I can't prove it can't be done because it is impossible to try and fit every transmission ever built so far as well as try to fit every transmission that will be built in the future.
