Re: Canon 5d vs. Canon 40d
We have the 40d, purchased mainly because of the focusing system, the better processor, and the price point.
The downfall is it's not a full frame camera so we're having a hard time with wide-angle stuff. We would prefer to have all Canon L-series but there's not a telephoto that fits our needs (wide like 16-17mm with a zoom up to 55 or 70mm zoom with f2.8) We ended up getting a Tamrom 17-50mm f2.8. If we had a 5d or other full-frame camera, we'd be able to get the L-series lenses.
That paragraph didn't make much sense... what I'm trying to say is that we don't want to carry TOO many lenses, 3 is enough and if we had a full-frame camera we could probably have worked with 2 (the 24-70 canon and the 70-200 canon).. Since the 24mm on a full-frame is about the same as a 17 on our 40d). The 24-70 would just not be wide enough on the 40d.
