Its not my first choice of transmission to learn on, but all manual transmissions are basically the same.

Not much for special tools needed. Its just a lot of parts and taking several pictures with a digital camera along the way to help with re-assembly will be beneficial. There are some write-ups around the internet as well as the service manual which do a great job of showing what you're getting into. Its not that difficult, but can result in disaster when you forget what part goes where and how and why.
