a little advice to you guys using CPLs - always focus (and lock focus) first, then twist the CPL filter to achieve the results you want. this only does not apply if your lens doesnt rotate the front element when focusing (L series, and some regular EF lenses for Canon). otherwise, when the lens focuses and rotates the filter, you'll have the effect at the wrong spot on the frame.
