Default Re: Spun Bearing Causes - Please Read!

My oil pan had a serious crease in it. It was like this for about 60K. I knew it was there but my oil pressure was amazing so I didn't care. When I finally decided to rebuild and found a broken ring land I paid extra attention to the bearings because of the crease in the pan.The bearings looked great for having 125K on the car.Once I looked at the screen I noticed that the crease had pushed the screen all the way in but it quickly fell away.Basically the restriction was a thin line through the center of the screen and the screen looked like a ^ with the restriction being the peak.So I guess it was smashed in but allowed enough flow to enter from the sides it was no problem.

Anyway with all of the cash I have spent for a full rebuild and balancing you can bet that I replaced the screen/pick up.I hope to hear her run this week.
