If you are measuring at the mass the thread should probably be called under-hood temps, not intake temps. To me intake temp implies the actual charge temp going into the engine, which most of us measure at some point close to the intake manifold (via ait sensor). Low underhood temps are good if you have an efficient intercooling setup... a crappy intercooling setup will still result in high intake air charge temps regardless of under-hood temp
