I'm thinking this changes the reading of baremetric pressure sensor. My theory is that with the honeycomb removed, your get faster air flow through the MAS, and thus lower pressure inside of it.......... I'm no engineer though
It could also have some effect on the temperature reading, but it seems as though you would see a lower temp due to less friction with no honecomb.... Something I've been thinking about is there are resistors that you can install in your MAS to fool the ECU into thinking the intake charge it cooler so it advances the timing and adds fuel. Maybe it would be possible to install a resistor that would fool the ECU into seeing a warmer charge, and thus take timing out...............
