Another point, the key to an NA build is to maximize VE (volumetric efficiency) thats basically how fast air flows in and out of the engine.
Cams, head work, ITBs, exhaust, headers, all serve to help this. A larger bore and longer stroke will affect this as well.
This is also why you see K20 engines making 300WHP and higher ALL MOTOR. The head on the K20 flows that well. I researched it awhile back and stock K20 heads actually flow as much if not better than VR4 heads!!!!
I think we can make more than 300 to the wheels with enough time money and research. I strongly believe its the heads that are really capping these engines potential.
Any turbo owner can attest to how badass a set of aftermarket heads are for a turbo car. It would have similar effects for all motor
