Well I can see what they are saying about the low end torque, but it is just not cost effective for non-turbos (relative to a tt) when you could have similar hp for less money on a 72. Sure you won't have the immediate low end pull, but you will notice the increased power. Yes you then have to worry about reliability because you've modded it, but luckily there aren't many mods that can hurt the N/A relative to the TT. I'm sorry but 2k+ for a 30hp gain and a bit more torque is just foolish. Save the money for some bolts ons and basic servicing.

Point of fact, Brian's Modded SOHC is the fastest known SOHC that is still N/A running 15.5 @91mph. Terry's DOHC N/A has damn near every upgrade you could do to a 6G72 n/a and he runs a 150 shot with little or no problems. His times are comparable to that of a stockish -> BPU VR4. Both engines are fresh and well maintained..go figure.
