Default Re: Pre Turbo Methanol injection.

Um, He said spraying methanol, not water.

Aquamist is just a "brand" of nozzle that he says is high quality.

Draw through carb turbo setups have proven themselves to be great performers and I believe they were often superior to blow through setups in the past 70 years or so.

The reason people avoid draw through has nothing to do with the turbocharger being damaged and everything to do with ice forming in the carburator. Not a good choice for daily driven cars.

And he is talking about spraying a small amount of fuel into his turbo, not 500-1000 hp worth of fuel.

Draw through carb turbo cars running circuits for hundreds of miles or even endurance races in the past put more of a beating on the turbo in one race then you could hope to accomplish in multiple lifetimes of normal driving with boost.

If draw through carb setups really ate up the compressor wheel, they would never have won a long distance race because they would be down on power at the end.

Now, not running a filter on your turbo........yes, that is stupid and you will ruin your turbo and your motor will be hurting. (some drag cars can get away without a filter but if you plan on driving more then 10 miles a year in your car, be smart)
-Yes and my pictures below make me look like a bad guy because the filter is not installed but I have one! Just doesnt look neato for pictures :P

I will be using 3 spray nozzles...spraying a small one into the turbine outlet and then 2 others about 2 feet before the TB. My only worry was about fuel puddling in the intercooler if the intercooler was working too well (if that were even possible). My front mount seems more likely to have that problem BUT I would bet that I am just being paranoid and it would not actually happen even if I sprayed a lot of meth into the turbo inlet.
