Try not to look at the W/B while driving because you should be looking at the road. Log A/F, Timing, and Knock, and review the logs after the tuning run. The basic simplified way of tuning would go like this:
- Set up the overall correction factor if you are using injectors that are larger than what the ECU is expecting (i.e. if you are using 360cc injectors with the NA ecu you need to set the base conversion)
- Do a tuning run, log the run. Abort the run if you knock alert system warns you of excessive knock (if you don't have one you need one)
- Look at the logged data. If there is knock or lean spots at a certain RPM/ load add more fuel. Goto step 2 to test and refine the new tune.
For our cars you want to be around 11.2-11.4 A/F on pump for high load situations (like WOT) and 14.7 for idling. Lean cruise is around 16.0 A/F. Of course all this is a very rough summary and you need to pay attention to how your car behaves. Be careful and safe.
