What they are saying is the trasmission in the GTO MR is the SAME transmission in every other 2G JDM GTO. The rear LSD is different 'though (just the LSD portion. the rear gear ratio in all JDM GTO's is the same as the first generation gear ratios worldwide). I would assume the shorter gearing in the JDM 6 speed may benefit you depending on the track you went to.
