Re: Chicago Crew Thread #2
RIP SIMON CHRUSZCZ(1986-2007)
hey everyone, I had to hear the worst news of my life last night that one of my best friends, who I often referred to as "my little brother" had passed away. Worst of all is that it was from what we all feared would happen... a drug overdose! It saddens me more than anything since when I was around I tried my best to keep him away from that stuff but it was his lack of self-esteem that took him down that path and ultimately led to this. I know I´m not the only one on this board who´s had to deal with such a loss, but it´s just so painful going with the fact that, only 3 classes away, I might not even graduate this semester since I think I might´ve failed 1(i´ll probably find out the results sometime next week). It´s all irrelevant now, but it saddens me to think that there was nothing I could do to stop this being halfway across the world and the even more helpless feeling of talking to him on AIM right before it happened and him saying how much he was looking forward to hanging out when I get back next weekend.
The saddest part is he was the only one that was there for my 21st bday, granted we were out in Colorado snowboarding and none of my other friends could get the time off work to come, and now he´ll never get to see his as it would´ve been this November.
He´s also the one responsible for getting me my job after school and without him I´d be completely screwed especially if I don´t graduate.
He was also really big into cars and hoped to one day get a VR4 just like mine. At the moment he had an interesting project car... an ´84 Chevy van w/ a 350/4spd manual from a ´67 Vette. Funny thing is that he thought there´d be no electrical problems since it had little/no electrical system outside of the battery, starter, and alternator and it ended up being an electrical nightmare for him. I hope where he is now, he´s got that thing running perfectly and is cruising the streets of heaven in it...
For everything he´s done I will keep him in my memory and I hope you all can help me pray for his poor mother who has to deal with losing the most important person in her life and words can´t even express the pain she´s dealing with now as she felt just as helpless as I did in preventing this downward spiral and ultimate tragedy and most of all, something good will come of this, I hope that if his story can change the life of just one person in his situation then his death will have had meaning and will not be in vain!
