Default Re: My TT Project 56K No...

UPDATE 5 - (6/6/07):

As I said before there are a few little things that I needed to take care of before I went ahead with the install. The first, which I never really documented, was the "CLICK START" fix. I had to do this because my car would not start all the time on the first try. I had to do that fix because, when I install the TT ECU and wire everything up and try to start it, it it doesn't start I need to know that the click start problem isn't the source.

Next, I had to modify the rear turbo IC piping which was documented above.

Today, I decided to get my DP modified. Well the DP I got was somebody's custom made DP that they no longer needed. It has individual 2" runners off the turbos mated to a 3" collector. Well the DP had originally been part of a welded system and thus was cut in order to ship to me. After examining it, I saw that I needed to 1) Add my WB O2 bung into it and 2) Lengthen it so I could get a proper O2 reading as well as make sure the exhaust is as far away from the cabin as possible. Since I didn't have a lovely VR4 to test fit stuff and make an exhaust, the extension will have to do until I can get everything put on and drive up to Monro on the 11th (hopefully) to get the rest of my exhaust built. Well here are the pics:

DP BEFORE:

-As you can see the part after the two runners connect is very short and that is why I needed to lengthen it

DP AFTER 1:

DP AFTER 3:

Well there you are. As you can see I wetsanded the DP a bit to get off some of the surface rust and dirt that had been cakes on to it. The new added length will allow me to have accurate WB-O2 readings and get the exhaust as far back as I can. If you remember the 30 degree mandrel bend that I have from the first post as well as the Turbo Muffler, I will be adding them on Monday.
