Default Re: Chicago Crew Thread #2

KILLUR... i'd be interested, but probably wouldn't be able to gather the funds until Fall/Winter since I'm gonna have to work off some of the debt I'm building up here in Vienna...

speaking of that the trip I just got back from a couple weeks ago wasn't enough for me, I had to do this...

EDIT: before I get torn apart, I was wearing a helmet when I was riding, unlike IL, Austria has a mandatory helmet law!!!

rented it for the day to make up for the loss of excitement when my 2nd baby was taken from me back on 9/22/06(see sig) and drove through the mtns in near-by Klosterneuburg, well, according to the Austrians they aren't "real" mountains, but the roads definitely sufficed since it was a lot of leaning and rolling the throttle(S-curves GALORE!!!)

And speaking of the trip here's just a couple of my fav pics...

Ferrari Museum: Maranello, IT... w/ my fav Ferrari of all-time, the F50!!!

St. Peter's Basilica: Vatican City... although i'm not a very good Catholic(and rarely go to church), I still had to stand in awe of the most sacred church in the whole world!!!

Porsche Museum: Zuffenhausen, DE(just outside of Stuttgart)... with my favorite autos of all-time... Carrera GT and 959

Hofbräuhaus: München, DE(Or Munich, as we like to call it)... enjoying a cold-brew w/ my two Munich buddies, who were themselves exchange students at U of I last year

Brandenburg Gate: Berlin, DE... THE symbol of Germany, the proudest part of my 3 heritages(Polish, Irish, and Germany... yes I am a PIG)

It's tough to rate all the cities I visited and this is from a completely tourist point of view since I didn't have time, nor much desire to go out clubbing and partying, but I can honestly say the best two cities were Berlin and Munich... very biased since I love Germany so much for obvious reasons, but I can also say that Italy is very over-rated and a city I will hopefully never go to again is Milan... it was not only a shit-hole, but there's really nothing to see there, although Rome was a shit-hole, atleast there's enough to see there to offset that... add to it that the Italians were very rude, something the French weren't!!!!(Paris was a wonderful time as well)

So if I could do this again I would rate the countries as such: Germany, Spain, Switzerland, France, Italy... with a very close preference from Spain to France as they were all awesome, but Germany was obviously the best and Italy was the worst!!!
