I started tightening mine, waiting for some resistance but it just kept going, it was about 1/2" up in there, almost too far for the short side of my allen wrench to reach.
I called Snow and they said ALL their pumps come set to max, and that by going too far I have actualy reduced the max pressure and might have stripped the plastic threads on the pump.
How old is your 220 pump? whats the pat# on it?
they were also telling me that the older 220 pumps used to come set at 150 but not anymore.

Well...news to me.
My 220 psi pump is old enough to be one of the ones that was set low. Matter of fact mine came with a sheet telling me to crank it up thru the roof.
