Hi there,
Admins and pesky blue bulb vendors have been giving me hell recently. I almost decided to give up on 3Si and buy an SUV and a Civic. But, I thought, before I do it, I will give it the last chance. Here it is:
Well, I understand that this is not a 3/S, butt... I have been working and researching all this, modeling and fiddling with parts, lining up vendors and manufacturing shops, and I have come up with a package that will make this handling possible on a 3/S.
This is really a big project for me. I will try it on my car first and shoot a demo movie, do not worry. But before I go any further with commercial plans for these products, I want to see if there is enough interest and (more importantly money) to make these efforts worthwhile.
This handling will be made possible by a certain combination of differentials. A new central differential and a new rear differential will be required. The front diff (helical Kormex or similar) is optional. An open front diff or a SF insert may work too, but I can not guarantee this now. If you have a Kormex unit it will work as well as a new one, so you can keep it and not replace anything there, you are then all set.
As you may know, Kormex differentials are not sold anymore. So if you have been wanting to buy one, this is a replacement for it that is at least equivalent or better in performance.
This setup will not be just good for drifting but for everything. Namely street driving, drag racing, road racing and autocross.
The central and the rear diff will cost about
$3,000 together. The front helical (optional) probably about
$1,000. I would like to gauge an interest in this by opening a pole. Please vote!
Remember, you need at least both Central and the Rear to get this handling. Please post a comment after you vote, so that I know that the votes are not fake. The vote is multiple choice, you can select more than one answer.
Note: Most technical details will not be revealed in this thread. This thread just is to gauge your interest only for now.
Philip
