hey,
i just got an email back from the NHTSA stating my complications with Mitsubishi Hq and my local Mitsubishi dealer declineing a second recall on a leaking transfercase.
They said:
Thank you for contacting the U.S. Department of Transportation's Vehicle
Safety Hotline Information Center.
IF you feel the recall did not remedy the problem and the dealer will
not perform the recall again without charge, you may visit our website
at
www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/ for information on how to file a Vehicle
Safety Complaint. The methods to file a complaint are as follows:

* Contacting our Hotline
In order to be eligible for free remedy, the vehicle cannot be more than
10 years old on the date the defect or non-compliance is determined.
Under the law, the age of the vehicle is calculated from the date of
sale to the first purchaser.

Does this sound correct about not being able to get the recall done after 10 years from the original purchase of the vehicle? Since i have a 1994 VR-4 and if this is true, i am no longer able to get the recall done since the first buyer purchased the car in 94?
