I never knew this, but you can just pull the transfercase off, and keep the fluid in there... That's how they say to do it.. Just make sure the tail end doesn't drop down!

No special plug needed on the back (That's to keep fluid in) and just a big flathead to get it away from the transmission itself.. Just tug and plug
