You should drain the transfer case before you remove it. When you drop the driveshaft you may get some of the remaining fluid leaking out the tail end. You don't need the tool. You should definitely drain your tranny or it will get messy once you pop those axles out. Good luck with the pull. So why are you pulling the tranny? Just bored????
