Speed density is basically what the name suggests... The engine management is converted from Mass Air 'flow' to an Air 'density' measurement. Instead of a MAS or MAF sensor to gauge the air 'flow' coming through some filter/sensor... it is replaced with a sensor that will read the Air 'Pressure'.

Also, since the MAS also houses the intake air temp sensor... you need to rewire the stock IAT with an aftermarket.

you don't need new intake pipes...
