But the WHOLE setup to run AEM with speed density and a wide band o2 gauge will cost about $2000.00 You can have your ECU repaired for about $230.00 or buy a REBUILT ECU for about the same. You will need a lap top if you go AEM so you can factor that in as well. And it will take hours of tuning also. The manual is 230+ pages long. If you repair your ECU or get a rebuilt eventually when you are ready for an AEM the stock ECU could be sold. But IMO the AEM is a performace up grade and not a quick fix for a bad ECU. If you look on www.stealth316.com it has the name and addresses of the placed that can fix your ecu. "I think" Avepro is the best one if I remember the name correctly.

cool.. thats a good way of looking at it.. thanks for the advise..
honestly speaking, if i could get the AEM to run at a level consistant with a stock ECU, i'd be satisfied a the time being.. like i said, the car is a project in the works, so reading thru the 230+ page manual and potentially spending hours and hours tuning over the weekend(s) is something that i wouldnt mind doing..
thank you guys very much for the clear input and whenever i decide to get an AEM atleast i now know what i'd be getting into..
well, to kind of change the subject, what brandname wide band O2 gauges would you reccommend?..
and this question may have been asked earlier in this thread, but what is meant by "speed density"?.. what all goes into setting that up..
