its just that i'm not going to install the AEM and immediately start tuning the car.. my only concern right now is just getting it back running and "drivable" (and by "drivable", i just want to be able to drive it back home from the shop.. lol..)..

as far as tuning, i'm still in a learning stage.. but tuning was the primary reason why i bought the car in the first place..

again, i appologize for the misunderstanding.. i'm not going to buy an AEM and do nothin else to my car.. that doesnt make much sense.. i just wanted to kno if it would get my car up and running again so i can prepare for future tuning...
you would not want to drive it far on a base map. a few miles from a shop, maybe. but I wouldn't. you may be able to dig up a map from someone else that started out with the EMS and no mods, but that may be a tough find.

get AAA and tow the car home. buy the EMS, the sensors you will need to really tune it, and do it right. if you plan on future mods like turbos/exhaust/injectors/etc, then I think you get the most bang for your buck with the EMS.

so I guess I'm not clear what your questions really are. If you want an AEM setup, figure $2k + laptop + hours of time tuning.

or figure $2k + shop install time ($$) + shop tuning time on a dyno ($$) = driveable car.
