The EMS isn't an easy place to start as a tuner, but it is certainly among the most flexible tuning devices I've ever used. One box pretty much does it all, and the precision of the tune you can get to is much better than the piggybacks I've tried. If it was the first tuning device you ever used, I could see how it would seem very intimidating.
