Default Re: Make your own valve spring compressor for $15

VSS install rear bank cams in place.

Well I did the rear today. started at about 8:00 and and finished up at about 6:00. I would not wish this on anyone. I am so sore right now
few things
1. Remove the breaker bar from the extionion that turns the crank. I got Throwen off of a step stool when pressurising the cylinder (was not quite TDCC)
2. needle nose plires do work the best for removing the VSS
3. crawling onto the engine is the best way to install the the keepers.

I seem to have helped - after about an hour of driving my knock counts went from 10 down to 3. I am sure it is going to take a few days to get the crap out of the cylinders.

Here is a little test - Which spark plugs ran a week with the new VSS. Which ran a week with the old VSS
Sorry the picture sucks - I am shaking so bad right now. Glad I am not a surgeon(so are other people). http://www.electronicsam.com/images/spark.JPG and large Sorry.
