If you are even undergoing the process of taking the transmission apart then you might want to really think about buying the right tools for the job. Especially since the fact is that this will more than likely NOT be the last time you have to do this. Sure you can pay the guy down the street $100 to press the stuff off then back on again. But what about next time? Besides it isn't like this is the only time you will ever use a press. I bought mine because I also need it to replace this rubber bushing on my rear lower control arm. $600 control arm or $20 bushing...Hmmm let me think hard now... $1800 Kormex rebuild(this is just a previous estimate given to me several months ago...Don't want to get yelled at) or $1000 in parts and tools. And thats with having to replace 1st, 2nd, 3rd synchros, all bearings, all seals, and have the case welded or buy on if need be along with the cost of the press and bearing splitter.

If the head on the HF press wabbles too much for you, you can always screw some metal flat stock to the frame to shim the head from wabbling around. I never thought of that as being a real problem with mine, but I will check out what you are saying about that. It is build pretty sturdy and the steal is pretty damn think on it. I'd trust it. I mean if it was crappy and killed someone I'm sure they would have dicontinued it a long time ago.
