Nope not at all ... you just yank the inspection panel and splice into the voltage ... or even easier check the voltage out of the gross re-wire (it will be maybe .5 volts less at the pump ... anything over 10 volts will make enough pressure for the car to idle well though).

Oh ... did you check your alternator output voltage? Make sure its over 13.
