The ECU is always updating itself. Some things in our ECUs don't update very quickly, some as slow as every 15 minutes. Hence the need to reset the ECU to get back to basics. I have other vehicles so some times I don't drive it everyday. Different driving and weather conditions play a role on how a gutted maf will react.
Again, 6 times i gutted and eventually every single time it acted up. And every single time she came back to normal by only replacing the combs.
Not saying every car will experience the same thing. Every car is different, every car has different mods and runs in different climates and elevations. Just stating what I have personally done and seen. Others here have had the same issue. Due a search. You will find many threads...
