Design flaw?
I agree with what you're saying, JRC, but the legalities of liability are tricky. If it's a design flaw, how come there is no replacement on those units (like mine) that aren't leaking? After 160K miles, most cars are leaking in lots of places. Unfortuneately, as it turns out, the transfer case on our Stealth wasn't leaking, so they changed the oil to their brand of synthetic and wash their hands of any responsibility. So if it starts leaking now, it's not a design flaw anymore, just normal wear? WTF! A few phone calls and a letter or two might get a "modded" transfer case worked on under the recall, but they probably don't have legal responsibility to do so. Worth a try, though. Good luck BCTURBO!
