Ok, here is the BS. Good and Bad. BAD NEWS FIRST, the service mgr. tells me that they are going to order a new seal kit, because as he understands this recall, it's the "seals" that are faulty and "not the TC itself." A NEW BULLETIN IS OUT WHICH STATES THAT THEY HAVE TO TAKE THE TC APART AND INSPECT IT, AND IF DAMAGED THEY HAVE TO GET APPROVAL FROM TECHLINE TO GET A NEW TC. FOR NOW, THE NEW SEAL KIT HAS IMPROVED SPRINGS AND WHATEVER ELSE IS INVOLVED.

THE GOOD NEWS, there's also a recall on the front brake lines, they've been known to crack, so I'll get new ones for the bubble(sorry if you already know this). That's good! Mr. Mechanic, tells me that its a foolish recall because the trannies leak worst of all, and that the method behind the is recall makes no sense. If he had it his way, replace it with the New TC and call it a day.

So, without making a scene I politely say, "Ok, but if when you remove the TC and find that there is damage inside, will you then replace the TC?" Yes. Right now they are treating this problem as a "rebuild" because they feel its just a seal problem.

What I need to know is the part #s for the seals in a 94 3000.

For now, I have to wait until the parts come in. The downside is that if the TC reveals and internal problem, then my car will be tied up for ???time until they can locate a new TC
